What is Tokyo Rainbow Pride?

If you've never celebrated Pride in Japan, here's your opportunity and is one not to be missed! This magnificent event celebrates the diversity of Tokyo's LGBT community.

There is a 3 km march around the Harajuku/Shibuya area and like any good Pride parade, participants march and ride on floats while dressed in outfits as diverse as the community itself.

Need to know

During this week, more than 60 events will take place at Yoyogi Park, from drag queen shows and musical performances to discussions and other joyful events celebrating diversity and inclusion.

Did you know?

The organizers created Tokyo Rainbow Pride in 2011 to ensure that a gay pride parade would be held in Tokyo in the event Tokyo Pride could not be held.
