What is the Portland Marathon?

The Portland Marathon take place annually on the first Sunday of October in Portland, Oregon and is one of the city's most exciting sporting events of the year.

The best way to describe the Portland Marathon is 'fast and beautiful'. It is the best way to experience the Rose City! 

The Portland Marathon is one of the world's most unique race experiences. There are four epic bridge crossings, a downtown start and finish, and a tour through some of the most iconic landmarks and neighborhoods in town.

If you're thinking of entering and ticking a marathon off your bucket list, this is your chance to do just that!

Need to know

The race starts and finishes at Portland's Waterfront Park. The course offer a fast elevation profile with the start/finish line only 36 feet above sea level, and a maximum course elevation of just 178 feet. This could be the race to reach your PB!

Did you know?

The inaugural race was held on Sauvie Island and attracted more than 86 participants. In more recent years the field has reached over 10,000 runners.
