What is the Barbados Open Water Festival?

Taking place in the sparkling, turquoise waters of Carlisle Bay, the Barbados Open Water Festival is the Caribbean's premier open-water swimming event.

The five-day event features numerous races from 1.5k to 10k, attracting swimmers of all ages and abilities from all over the world.

Visitors can take part by registering for the festival, but if you'd prefer to watch rather than swim, there are plenty of waterside activities all weekend long.

Need to Know

To start, there will be three days of practice swims followed by two days of races. Swimmers can choose to swim just one day or all five. Entry feeds (for non-residents) range from $20-$50.

Did you Know?

Carlisle Bay is a protected marine park, but historically it was a bustling seaport.

Swimming conditions in the bay are ideal because of the crystal clear water and little-to-no undertow.

This is a fun, family-friendly event that you don't want to miss!
