The National Football League, also known as the NFL, is the USA’s major professional football organization. The league consists of 32 teams, divided equally between the American Football Conference (AFC) and the National Football Conference (NFC).

Professional football is a fast-paced game with an enthusiastic fan base that makes home stadiums super loud and full of energy. In each game there are two teams of 11 players who try to outscore each other by taking control of the ball and advancing it down a 120 yard field. Although an NFL game is 60 minutes, broken into four 15-minute quarters, most games last between three to four hours due to stoppages, penalties and commercial breaks.

The NFL season begins in September, with playoffs taking place in January. The season concludes with the infamous Super Bowl, the league's championship game, in February.
