The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) | Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) is the highest level of college football in the United States. The largest schools in the National Collegiate Athletic Association make up the FBS (NCAA), with over 100 colleges and 10 conferences, or leagues.

College football is one of the most popular spectator sports throughout much of the United States, and some of the country’s biggest stadiums are packed to capacity each Saturday when the games are played. Although officially each game takes just 60 minutes, the same as the NFL, the average college football game lasts 3 hours and 22 minutes due to stoppages.

College football games hold a lot of pageantry and tradition along with a strong sense of community spirit. The season always starts on the Thursday before Labor Day weekend and concludes on the first Saturday in December. For many players this is a crucial time as how they perform directly impacts their chances of playing professional football when the NFL holds its annual NFL draft in the spring.

If you’re a sports fan and want to experience a real slice of Americana, grab tickets to a college football game and cheer on your favorite team.
