The Louisiana Fur and Wildlife Festival takes place in the heart of winter. Festival contests include oyster shucking, muskrat and nutria skinning, trap setting, duck and goose calling.
A booth located on the fairgrounds showcases the history of the festival. The festival also features carnival rides, exhibits, live music and dancing, and regional food.
