What is the Daytona 500?

The Daytona 500 is an iconic 500-mile NASCAR Cup Series season-opener held annually at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida. 

This thrilling event is regarded as the most prestigious race in NASCAR. Racing cars chase each other around a 2.5-mile track and reach speeds of up to 200 mph. The cars will race for 200 laps and cover a total distance of 500 miles, hence the race name.

Known also as 'The Great American Race' this is a unique event that motorsport fanatics won't want to miss.

Need to know

The race lasts approximately three and a half hours. Tickets can be purchased in advance online along with camping spots and fan zone passes.
