What is Comic-Con International?
San Diego Comic-Con is a multi-genre entertainment and comic book convention held annually in San Diego, California.
The four-day event is a celebration of comic books, films, television shows, anime, manga, video games, and all things pop culture. Attendees can also see their favorite stars up close, ask questions and get autographs. Every year, the number of attendees grows as hundreds of thousands of people join in the fun.
Over the years, Comic-Con has seen an amazing array of comics and book publishers in its Exhibit Hall and has become the focal point for the world of comics conventions.
Comic-Con filled the San Diego Convention Center with more than 200,000 attendees annually and in addition to drawing huge crowds, the event holds several Guinness World Records including the largest annual comic festival in the world.
Need to know
Comic-Con recommends using public transportation to get to the event - the Trolley stops opposite the Convention Center and there is also a Shuttle service, which stops at several of the available parking lots downtown.
