What is Bonnaroo?
Since its inception in 2002, Bonnaroo has been a much-loved highlight on the American music festival calendar.
Held on a huge farm in Manchester, Tennessee the event regularly draws the biggest names in music - past performers range from Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen to Jay-Z and Lizzo.
While the music, of course, takes center stage, there are a huge range of activities that take place over the four days including a ‘Broo’ers Festival’ featuring craft beers, a silent disco, film screenings, parades, yoga classes, a village market and so much more.
Need to Know
Bonnaroo is an all-ages event, and children of any age are welcome when accompanied by an adult.
The festival also features, ‘Soberoo’ which is for any attendees who wish to remain sober throughout the event. There are daily meetings and designated substance-free camping areas.
Did You Know?
The name Bonnaroo comes from a 1974 Dr John album titled Desitively Bonnaroo – which in New Orleans Creole slang means, ‘best on the street’.
