What is the Birmingham Literature Festival?

Birmingham Literature Festival is an annual celebration of books and writers and takes place in the vibrant UK city of Birmingham.

The festival is packed with events from a wide variety of writers, artists, comedians and speakers. Over the years, the festival has earned a positive reputation for its programming original content. Attendees can discover unusual art and writing, in all its forms, from performance poetry and new contemporary theatre through to more traditional author interviews, discussions and book signings.

All events are individually ticketed and take place across various venues in Birmingham. Tickets can be purchased in advance online.

Did you know?

Every year the festival appoints three guest curators to help shape the programming. Previous guest curators have included short story writer Paul McVeigh, former Birmingham Poet Laureate Casey Bailey and author Otegha Uwagba.
